Piper's Parties is co-founded by Tyla Labuschagne, whose day job is built entirely around precision. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance, a postgraduate qualification in Forensic and Investigative Auditing, and specialist certifications in anti-money-laundering risk from the University of Manchester and GDPR compliance — over a decade spent in financial compliance and risk for the gambling and betting industry.
That same discipline — checking, measuring, documenting, leaving nothing to chance — is exactly what she brought to party styling when Piper's Parties started as decorations for her own children's birthdays. Kobus handles the site safety side, RAMS and PAT testing, from his own background in site management — but nothing on the paperwork or business side gets signed off without Tyla's audit-level scrutiny first.
Tyla and Kobus have been together almost sixteen years, since school, and are raising four children in Swadlincote, including their daughter Piper. Piper's Parties takes its name from her, and every event we style still carries the standard Tyla set for her own kids' parties first.
Outside the business, Tyla's an animal lover through and through — the family shares their home with a Cavalier called Benson — and she's slowly working through a travel bucket list one trip at a time. Her long-term goal for Piper's Parties is to open a dedicated kids' café and soft-play space, so the parties we plan can happen under one roof.
